First Kiss in YOUR PLACE OR MINE

Two years ago, my husband wanted us to sell our Cape Cod style house and ten acres. He suggested that we buy a ranch or build one. I didn’t get on board with this change at first, but then agreed with him that it was a good time to downsize. Well, we have listed our house twice with a realtor during the last two years. We have looked at tons of houses and written contracts for two of them. Unfortunately, our house hasn’t sold so we haven’t been able to move.

Out of this experience of looking at houses, I decided to write a sensual and fun story of home buying by two single people. The title is Your Place or Mine. Sydney Smith decides it’s time to move out of her tiny apartment and become a home owner. Blake Smith, no relation and a real hottie, also wants to see the duplex. A mix-up has them viewing the duplex together. They both love the house. Sydney’s hot and bothered just looking at Blake. She suggests writing rules, so sharing a duplex might work. Although the rules are excellent, that adjoining door between the two sides creates havoc one stormy night. Their hot night might have been avoided if rule number two had been followed.

This brief scene takes place in Sydney’s apartment and is before they even have a chance to write the rules.

Blake’s lips touched hers before she could finish her sentence. His mouth tasted sweet and wonderful. Probably from the red wine. She was good at picking out full-flavored sweet wine. Except, without alcohol on his lips, she would still want to kiss him. As his kisses became more intense, she slid her hands up the front of Blake’s T-shirt, feeling his hard muscled chest.

His tongue exploring her mouth thrilled her, but didn’t last. He moved to her neck, planting little kisses all the way down to the point of her V-neck shirt. When his warm lips caressed the spot between her breasts, she shivered with anticipation. While clutching him tightly, she heard a knock on her door. What the heck? Who dared to interrupt them? Desire pumped throughout her body. She didn’t want it to stop and her boobs definitely wanted some attention next.

"Sydney," her best friend yelled through the door, "it’s me, Libby."

She moaned. "I better let her in."

Hi Diane,

This book is quite different from anything else I've read by you, but sounds like a fun read.
I like the plot.

I love the premise of this story. I have a fetish for "mix-up" stories. I find them to be really cute and fun. LOL. Thanks for sharing your excerpt!

Hi Linda,
Your Place or Mine is definitely different from my sweet romances. This one has a few sensual scenes in it so I used D.S.Craver for it instead. Thanks, Linda. It's always nice to read your comments.

Kasey,
I think you'd like Your Place or Mine. I also had fun writing the dialogue for Sydney's parents - they are a cute couple and she learns something interesting about them when they were young.

LASR reviewer gave YPoM 4.5 books so that was pretty cool.
