Still deciding about Fezariu's Epiphany? Try the Prologue...

The unrelenting snow fell between the far-reaching deciduous branches of the vast forest, disguising an already barely discernible path that ran between the trees and into the heart of a steep valley. Amidst the persistent snowflakes and swirling breeze, a cruel game of cat and mouse was drawing to a close.

Feeling his breathing becoming heavy, Fezariu reached the crest of a slippery slope and immediately halted. He could feel his legs beginning to buckle beneath the weight of Tessera, who was drifting in and out of consciousness in his arms. Fezariu’s right hand, seeped in Tessera’s blood, maintained an uneasy grip on her trembling form, which was now playing out the final chorus of a young life.

‘How did it come to this, Fezariu?’ Tessera said, though her words were the faintest whisper soon lost in the jealous wind.

Fezariu could not muster a response. He continued along the path, his every step leading them further from the pursuing Himordians but deeper into the forest and closer to death. Fezariu grimaced at the sight of Tessera’s blood on the snow – a testament to her fading life and an unwanted trail for the Himordians to follow.

Just ahead, Fezariu could make out his troubled comrades – the Merelax Mercenaries. Each one had wandered willingly beyond the selflessness that had once made them equally feared and sought after throughout the world. Their attire – once of rich black silk with bejewelled sleeves – was ripped from the harsh terrain and punctured by wounds from the Himordians’ blades and arrows. Even the most basic armour that may have lessened the severity of these injuries was considered unbecoming of such accomplished warriors. This trademark had left the mercenaries unhindered since their inception but now their obvious mortality had never been better pronounced. Every mercenary now walked their own path with no concern or shred of guilt for the forsaken friends they had left behind. Steadfast loyalty, perseverance and endeavour were becoming unknown concepts to the last generation of Merelax Mercenaries.

A sudden lull in the snowfall allowed the overhanging moon to bask the valley in its nocturnal splendour. Fezariu’s gaze fell upon the crystalline glitter on the surface of the snow and he felt a slight ironic smile come to his numb lips as he absorbed this intricate beauty in the midst of countless fading lives. In his arms, Tessera awoke and now seemed oblivious to the mortal wound she had suffered in the battle the mercenaries had so decisively lost.

‘Do you remember when we first trained with General Bayard, Fezariu?’ Tessera asked, briefly closing her eyes, causing tears to run down her face, their trace briefly alleviating the bitter and enveloping cold.

‘My erstwhile teacher with selective hearing,’ Fezariu replied with a wry smile. ‘How could I forget?’

When Tessera failed to respond, Fezariu began to feel her edging closer to delirium. Her questions became frequent though she awaited no response or acknowledgement of any kind from Fezariu.

‘Do you remember sitting on the wall overlooking Redemption with Vintaro and smoking Mizuansi?’ Tessera asked, between painful coughs. ‘I can still see the luminous stars through the myriad of colours rising from the bowls of our pipes. The seemingly endless conflict throughout the streets was over and with it the rebellion. The city stood subdued and silent save for the foundations of the tallest buildings that still trembled in the aftermath of the devastation. Do you remember the torches that lit up the harbour at Strathmore? Our journey to Clarendon changed everything. We should never have gone there. It was never the same after that. Do you remember, Fezariu?’

Tessera coughed violently and gasped at the intense pain emanating from her wound. Fezariu could feel the few remaining fragments of life beginning to ebb from her veins, leaving him to lament his inability to do anything but allow the end to come.

In the returning snowfall, Fezariu perceived an obstacle to his path through the forest. It was a large lake, its surface frozen but the ice too thin to risk walking across. Fezariu turned as if to head back down the path but his legs would no longer carry him. He fell to his knees before slowly lowering Tessera onto the path. She was still breathing but now sporadically, while her eyes, filled with glistening tears, were permanently closed.

Fezariu gazed beyond the surface of the frozen lake and the heights of the forest to the starlit cosmos that had overlooked the crushing defeat the Himordians had inflicted on the Merelax Mercenaries. Fezariu found himself strangely content and at peace. There was nothing left to do but wait for death by the hands of the Himordians or by the severity of the falling snow.

As Tessera’s breathing continued to decline, Fezariu thought about his life: his birth in Larchfield, his later childhood on the sleazy streets of Clarendon and finally his blossoming career in the Merelax Mercenaries. Fezariu’s memories, so vivid in their poignancy and regret, played out smoothly in his mind and helped him to forget the frostbite that was now beginning to cripple his body.

Fezariu remembered his reason for becoming a mercenary in the first place, the same reason that had led him to this lonely place in the forest. It had all started in the White Oak, a squalid brothel in Clarendon, and Fezariu’s sad fate had been down to one woman – a prostitute named Wild Jessamine.

David M. Brown was born in Barnsley in 1982 and first conceived the idea of Elenchera in college. His love of history and English led him to read these subjects at Huddersfield University. David is inspired by medieval history, Norse mythology and Japanese role-playing video games and anime films. He lives in Huddersfield with his wife Donna and their six rescue cats.

What's Fezariu's Epiphany about? I'm glad you asked!! Here's the blurb:

The White Oak, Clarendon’s oldest brothel, lured and destroyed men by the thousands. Fezariu was different. He had never been drawn by the White Oak’s vices but the brothel had still ruined him when he was just a boy.

Salvation came in the form of the Merelax Mercenaries – Elenchera’s most prestigious hired hands. They gave Fezariu the chance to escape from his past. Immersed in the world of dangerous assignments in the colonies Fezariu longed to forget everything about his childhood but only in facing the past would he ever be free of it.

Brainstorm now for only $.99

I'm so looking forward to this blog tour.  I have a book trailer that Goddess Fish is just finishing up for me—I  can't wait to show it off.  The audiobook is on it's way, produced by my good friend and voice talent Mike Lamb—it's sounding ger-rate! And...I'm so excited about the book blog tour that I've just dropped the prices on all three of my thriller novels to $.99—that's right: Jezebel, Dead Reckoning and Brainstorm are all on sale for $.99!  But get aboard fast. This ship is sailing and you won't see these novels this low again!

Thanks for hosting my BRAINSTORM blog party!

I'm excited about my first blog tour! My thanks to the ladies at Goddess Fish for putting this together.

But I'm even more excited about my latest thriller novel Brainstorm. I've already gotten some great reviews from two of the hottest NY Times Bestselling thriller writers, Douglas Preston and James Rollins. Doug said it is "An outstanding Novel" and Jim said "...a kick-ass adventure story."  You'll find their complete reviews online.

Brainstorm is not just a thriller.  Besides some great actions scenes, there's a deep-rooted romance that the story hinges on—all that and a mystery that readers won't guess until the end, even though it's well seeded along the way. So, don't cheat and go to the last page before it's time—you'll miss out on a lot of fun.

Researching this story was mind-blowing.  I've used this information to flesh out the story, including secret government projects and futuristic weapons as well as nonlethals. Imbedding this research into the heavy drama of the plot, I pushed my characters to the limit, both physically and emotionally. And it all wraps up in an incredible race that I hope makes everyone's heart pound.

Please read Brainstorm (price dropped to $.99 for the blog tour!) and let me know what you think. I'd love to read your comments—send them to me at gordon@gordonkessler.com. And don't forget to check out my other thrillers Jezebel and Dead Reckoning—as well as a couple of shorts I wrote.  Happy reading!

Thanks for hanging out today and checking out my excerpts, free reads, blogging stories, and links. I really enjoyed reading everyone's comments, and I want to send a special "Thank You" to the Goddess Fish crew. You're awesome!

Thank you for an awesome day!

Good evening fans and readers of Goddess Fish!

As this fun filled day draws to a close, I'd like to thank all of you for allowing me to bring some manlove into your lives with these posts. Some of you may not want to read m/m or gay fiction which is fine because it is your choice, however, if you don't, in my opinion you're missing out on some very great stories.

And i'm not just talking about me. Rather, I'm not... *grins* As I said earlier, I prefer to stay grounded but there are a host of great authors who write brilliant tales just with the man on man element. Some don't even have a lot of sexual content if any at all. Still, the relationships in the story are a man pursuing a man and this my friends, if you are open minded, should not be a deterrent.

If you would, peruse the titles of gay fiction, not erotica. This is usually hard to find in all honesty and I'll be doing a post about that tomorrow at fellow author, Sam Crescent's blog.  Look at the m/m section and see all of what is to offer. Some of the best are there like GA Hauser, Sue Brown, Rick Reed, LA Witt, Marie Sexton, among others and read the content, the sensuality. I'll bet you'll find one that you're looking for. There is a vast world out there in m/m or gay fiction that has not been discovered so look for it.

Now, time to toot my own horn. *grins* My earlier post was about my characters with their complex plots. I cross over genres and you might see something that you'd like to read. Whether it be the heartwarming A Second Chance with 1 or 2 vivid sex scenes or Longing for a Normal State of Vertigo in the Riding the Rocket anthology where there is barely any sex at all.

The key is allow yourself to be immersed in a good story. You may not be a fan of gay fiction or m/m per se, but there are stories waiting for you there that you'd enjoy reading. Don't shun them because of the primary relationship, give them a try. You might like what you've read.

I'd like to thank Goddess Fish for allowing me to have this release party. Please leave you thoughts on any of my posts and I'll pick a winner that will receive a couple of free books. Thank you for listening and enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Thanks For a Great Day!

Thanks for the chance to be here today. It's been a blast. Thanks everyone that stopped by to say hi, and don't forget to leave some comments for a chance to win a copy of Identity Crisis.

So, where do I go from here? I'm working on several projects right now. Book two in the Force Recon series, book three in the Delaney brothers series and book three in the Identity series, Assumed Identity. And yes, we have yet one more person confused about who and what they are. The heroine in this book, Julie, AKA Hayden, gets an invite to a very tawdry costume ball where she meets an equally tawdry man with a magic bag full of goodies...

Arriving in Wonderland

by Em Petrova

When I was approached to write a bondage-themed story for an anthology, one important book of my past immediately floated to the surface of my mind—A.N. Roquelaure’s Sleeping Beauty. This titillating series written by Anne Rice (my goddess!) under her pen name were my first foray into the mysterious and enthralling world of BDSM. I found by the end of her series that my mind had been formed by her words, and I too craved a little dominance, submission and maybe a spanking or two. *wink*

I loved the skewing of a well-known fairy tale, and I knew I too wanted to try my hand at tormenting some beloved characters from my childhood. Kinky? Yeah. Twisted? Oh hells yeah! When I ran through the fairy tales I could use, Alice was the most intriguing. And a story blossomed.

In Alice’s world, she has a long, slow fall from reality. Here she escapes boredom and enters a life where she’s out of control. In her new surroundings, she feels more out of control but over time she becomes self-disciplined. In the real “Alice in Wonderland” written by Lewis Carroll, Alice can’t get what she wants through tears. She realizes her tears are selfish and thrashes herself by saying she can’t get what she wants right now.

In my story, Alice’s Wonderland, I tried to show Alice’s growth—she mentally shrinks and expands throughout the story. The hero Rabbit leads her as the white rabbit led Alice, and everything in her new life is exaggerated.
Here’s a sample of my edgier take on “Alice in Wonderland.” Thanks for exploring this fantasy with me!

Blurb:
While Alice is caught reattaching her stocking to her garter at a party, she looks up to see a gorgeous stud wearing only white leather pants and twin nipple piercings. After closer inspection, she’s stunned to find he’s really her old childhood friend, nicknamed Rabbit. When he asks her to come home with him to talk, she quiets the inner voice that reminds her she swore off bad boys. She’s all alone in a big city and yearning for a family connection. Rabbit’s presence seems like a balm to her wounded soul.

Rabbit has loved Alice since boyhood, and spent years waiting for the moment when he can get her alone. Once inside his bizarre world, he uses leather cuffs and hair bondage to teach Alice the true extent of her passions. But can she see past the boy he once was and give the man he now is the trust they both need?

EXCERPT:
Alice edged behind a sofa arm, dipped a hand under her skirt, and
fiddled with her stocking. Feeling along her thigh, she located the
garter clip. Around her, the party raged on, the floor flooded with
bodies. Writhing to the music, moshing. She reattached the thin
fabric and smoothed down her deep blue skirt.

"I saw that." A deep male voice sounded by her ear.

She jerked. Her heart slammed the wall of her ribs and she clapped
a hand over it, trying to still the throbbing pulsations that radiated
through her body and shoved the beat of the metal music from her
ears.

She twisted to look up at the guy who spoke to her. And kept
looking. Damn, he was a stunning bit of male flesh. Broad shoulders.
Corded arms. Flanks of muscle outlining his waist, which
disappeared into a pair of the tightest fucking white leather pants she'd
ever seen. In fact, she'd never seen a pair of white leather pants in
person, let alone on a man, but he rocked them. Rocked as in I-would-
so-peel-those-off-you-now.

His dark eyes warred with his blond hair, which stood in spikes
over a wide brow. And he had one of those jaws. Square cut and
framing a mouth made for kissing.

"Saw what?" she yelled over the din.

He waggled a forefinger. A bracket hugged his lips as he smiled.
"Your little adjustment." With that, he spun away and threw himself
into the crowd, bouncing, leaping with the bodies. She stared at the
mob that swallowed him, searching for his blond head above the
others. But she couldn't see him anymore.

For a moment she watched the undulating mass of people. The
music pitched louder and louder until she felt as if the floor shook
beneath her stilettos. These parties were all the same. Deafening
bass, too much alcohol, and couples fucking in the corners, closets,
and bedrooms. A couple was even spread upon the dining table
amidst cheese platters and bowls of chips, their naked limbs entwined
in a love dance.

Once upon a time, Alice would have been curled up somewhere
with Dylan. But he'd walked out on her and taken her heart with him,
leaving only a fragile case behind.

She snatched up an abandoned bottle of Jim Beam Black Label,
rubbed her hand over the mouth to eradicate any germs from the last
person who'd swigged from it, and tipped it to her lips. The warm
bourbon blazed a path down her throat and straight to her pussy. But
it also instilled a feeling of despair.

The Perfect Career for a Gay Man

What is the PERFECT career for a gay man?
Michael Mandrake

Greetings folks!

By no means is this a slander nor do I claim to know it all, it’s my attempt at good humor.

BLMorticia, the Triad Wicked Girl knows all about that so forgive me as I take on her persona at the moment to bring some fun to this guest blog.

1.      Massage Therapist – Ooh. This would be perfect because you get to touch other men and they won’t think you’re groping them because you’ll get paid for it. Extra points if you’re a therapist at a mens club!

2.      Doctor – Same thing applies here. Yes, it might take some time to get all the education required but you get to see some hot men naked and even fulfill those few female fantasies as well. Keep yourself under control though. You don’t want to get sued.

3.     Photographer – You're an artist and get to take pictures of some of the most beautiful men in the world like my favorite, Kevin Slack or the man behind Vish Studio which supplied this lovely man above for me and the whole world to enjoy. Is he not stunning?
(Bought license to this one. Please don’t copy. Just Ogle)

4.      Police Officer – You get to show your manly side. It is a dangerous job and the police academy is no joke but you don’t get to handcuff a man and erm, pin him against a car or a wall if you catch him doing wrong in an alley!
5.      Writer - *grins* You get to write sexy stories about the men you admire and not feel ashamed when you talk about their body parts, what they do to you, ahem, the other character in a sex scene, and you get to use your imagination. Nothing wrong with that right? *laughs* also see the lovely man up above.

I’m sure there are more that would be great careers but because I wanted to share my new book and excerpt with you, we’ll leave it at 5. In my new book, A Second Chance from XOXO publishing, it actually is a bit bittersweet but my characters, Farris and Daniel make it fun along the way and since they want more story, there will be more from them in the new future.

The book will be out this week, most likely on the 15th.

Here is a blurb and excerpt.

BuylinkWill also be released at Bookstrand, ARe, Amazon, 9Clouds, and Omnilit

BLURB:

Hesitant to begin a relationship with someone new, two police officers who have lost their partners in the line of duty try to deal with their obvious attraction to one another. Will one of them accept the other’s proposition to start over or remain alone because of their places on the police force?

PG EXCERPT:

While we continued to chat, I noticed DeClerc in my peripheral. I couldn’t help but stare at him. I moistened my lips, biting the bottom as he came closer.

Damn…

“Um, hello…” I looked past the chief to take a long gander at Daniel. I stood up, extending my hand. “I’m Farris Beason.”

He accepted. “Daniel Declerc. Nice to meet you.” The handshake was firm, his hands soft like a female.

Don chuckled, “See Beason, if you would’ve been in the right frame of mind you could’ve joined Daniel today.”

While we exchanged smiles, I gawked at the pretty face in front of me. Daniel was even more gorgeous up close. The only distraction was the defect on his finger. Who was lucky enough to call him theirs? I had to find out.

“Pity,” Daniel said with a grin. “Maybe when you’ve recovered from your wild night?” He cocked an eyebrow.

I laughed, “Yeah, um…maybe…”

We’d broken our hand gestures but not our gaze. Maybe he did play for my team, but the question remained, who was he married to?

Hope you enjoyed my post. I would be honored if you'd leave a comment! Please visit It's Raining Men on Monday's when I present the manlove every Monday for your enjoyment!

Excerpt

“Are you blushing?”
“Blushing? Hardly.” Thank goodness the light in the room was low. She was melting. But where was her hard exterior—the one she needed to protect her? There’d already been too many restless nights lately, when she’d tried not to think about Evan and sex. It was best not to consider him in that context now. They were the best partners, too good at working together to risk crossing that line and ruining everything between them, not to mention the difference in their ages. She couldn’t go there.
“You’re not answering. Does the silence mean you—”
“Look, Evan, we don’t play in the same sand boxes.” She tried to move away, but he held her firmly in place, one hand on her shoulder and the other firmly at her waist, pulling her tightly against his muscled body and his growing interest.
“Don’t be like that with me. It won’t work.” The words were clipped and edgy. His voice quiet, his implication explicit. “We both know I can keep up with you on any level—economically, intellectually, socially, emotionally—I’m right there with you.” The grit in his voice sounded angry, maybe a bit insulted, too.
“You know I didn’t mean it that way. I only meant I’m older than you and your friends. You hang with a younger crowd, have different interests.” “Mmm, so?”
Damn, if anyone saw him holding her like this, they’d think she was…ugh, robbing the cradle. She squeezed the hand recklessly massaging too close to her left breast and growled at him under her breath. “Stop that. Let me go.”
“Not a chance, lady. Don’t move or we’ll both be embarrassed.” He rubbed his cock across her ass to make his point.
Evan was young, fit, hard.
Oh, God, he is so hard.

Take one feisty heroine, add a dash of snark

Mix in one hunky guy who happens to be a warrior angel. No need to stir - they mix very well! :)
I'm so proud of this book video - I hope you'll check it out! It's short, but very cool!
Here's another excerpt from Dead to Rights, my paranormal now available on Amazon and Smashwords:
We kept walking until we reached the side of the cafeteria. He pressed me against the building, into the shadows.
“Get off me,” I hissed, but somehow felt safe when he instead lifted his elbows on either side, shielding me.
A dangerous illusion. He was one of them, a weird ninja warrior. This smacked of a setup.
He murmured, “I told you, play along. No one will bother us if they think we’re making out.”
Oh, that’s a new one. But it held a ring of truth, though I worried he’d relay everything I said in person. “What the hell’s going on.”
He scanned the compound. “You’re lucky they didn’t shoot you.”
Funny, at close range, he couldn’t seem to look me in the eye. “No one ever said we couldn’t go for a freaking walk.”
“Not at night,” he said, “and never into the woods.”
Sounded like a bad Halloween flick. “Oh, seriously.” I shifted between his raised arms.
His eyes flashed bright in the darkness. “Fine. You want to know why not? Because all along the outer perimeter, camouflaged guards hide. Armed with automatic machine guns. That is, if you make it past the traps.”
So it had been the click of a gun. What the hell kind of traps? Too many questions raced through my head, so I simply asked, “Why?”
Sounding bemused, he said, “The Reverend doesn’t like unannounced visitors.”
I have proof otherwise. “Or followers who stray, I guess.”
He went on. “In this area, no one questions gunfire, whether single shots or rapid fire, day or dead of night. No other member would question someone’s disappearance.”
Cold crawled across my skin. “So we’re prisoners.”
This seemed to cheer him. “Only technically.”
A laugh burst out. “Oh, I love your positive spin on the situation. But I take issue with its accuracy.” I studied him in the dim light. “If we’re not allowed in the woods, what were you doing out there?”
His voice deadpan, he said, “Saving you.”
Oh, that couldn’t have been the only reason. “You risked your life to follow me? Why?”
He grinned. “No one should be shot for ignorance.”
Wait. Had I said that? As Tess? Some vague memory itched to come to the forefront, but faded. I banged a fist against the building and cursed under my breath.
He tensed. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. Sorry.” I’d be damned if I’d tell him. Maybe literally.
He studied me. “So what made you so upset?”
My belly turned, thinking of Ellen. “Nothing.” He’d probably ask why I hadn’t given myself to Cunningham.
He sucked air through his teeth. “Whole lot of nothing. Doesn’t make sense.”
Nothing did, here. Or anywhere. “Listen, no one else seems to have followed us. I’m going home.” The term made my stomach lurch again. Not exactly home sweet home. Tears burned my eyes. Would I ever find my real home?
Easing away, he asked, “Sure you don’t want to talk about it?”
Ducking my head, I steeled myself. No use crying about it. “I’m sure.” It wouldn’t help, even if he believed me.
He straightened. “I’ll walk you back.”
“Don’t bother. I’m not inviting you in.” I couldn’t take another proposal tonight.
Amused again, he said, “I don’t want to come in.”
Disappointment surprised me. I’d better play nice. “Sorry. It’s been a weird day.” And that was saying a lot, considering most of my days lately had been beyond strange.
We walked in silence. He set a foot on the doorstep.
True to my warning, I went in alone. Before closing the door, I leaned out. “Hey.”
He hadn’t yet moved. “What?”
“Thanks. I owe you one.” It irked me to admit it. I didn’t like unused favors hanging over my head.
“I’ll remember that.”
I groaned, “Great,” and shut the door.
After slipping to the window, I peered out, expecting to see him still there. He wasn’t. Nor was he up the corridor of grass, nor down. Had he slipped behind the cabin? Instinct pressed me to the opposite window. No sign of him. Really weird. But today, I’d expect nothing less.

From Echoes to Identities

After test driving a couple of publishers I had the good fortune of finding and subsequently signing with Rebel Ink Press last fall. My first short story with them came in November and after analyzing what I had been doing I revamped a novel I had written and wasn’t happy with and zipped it away to the editor. At the time I was knee deep in a series I’ve dubbed The Sergeants of Echo Company about three marines and their mission to bed three impossibly emotional women. The manuscript I sent E was A Slower, Lower Love and my original intent was to publish it as a stand-alone story. E didn’t have it long before she sent me an email and the opening line was “We need to talk.” Holy crap...how bad was it? That was my gut reaction. However, that turned out to be very good news indeed. You see, two lines had E in love with a side character, Logan and she wanted more. That was the beginning of the Delaney brothers series.

So, here I am with a release date for A Slower, Lower Love and no sequels planned out…oh, and the Echo series half finished. What to do? I put Echo aside and started work on the Slower Lower books. In the meantime, a new muse came to live at my house by the name of Bronwyn. She’s a very kinky little thing to say the least. She wears spike heeled boots and carries a whip on her hip, and it just so happens she likes to write BDSM. Now here I am with one series back burnered, trying to get another one complete and here comes Bronwyn wanting to create a series all her own with a serious bent. The little she-devil. Who did she think she was? Needless to say, she’s relentless and in between finishing Kurt’s story and the release of A Slower, Lower Love, Identity Crisis took shape.

Identity Crisis came as freely as water to me and I wrote it in a matter of days. I positively loved writing it and never dreamed it would get the response that it did. I’m new to the BDSM scene as it were and tried very hard to do my research. It paid off. Some of the comments I’ve received are wonderful and most of them include something to the effect that my characters are so believable the ladies wish the men would jump off the page and keep them company a while. And while Ren and Chad did do that for me, Steph did it that much more. He’s the one I want to hop out of the book and introduce himself.

Steph’s story took me a while longer to write. Not only is it twice the length of Identity Crisis, he and Jill have way bigger issues than did Tori, Ren and Chad. And so I find myself half-way through the year with two books released in both series, and the Identity series is getting rave reviews. I started thinking, wow…would the Echo boys have gone over as well? Maybe it was a cosmic intervention that sent me down this path. Whatever the reasons, I’m glad it happened. I’m having a stellar year and wouldn’t change a thing.

Love was Dirty Words is the story of a married couple who have figured out how to stay connected as their lives get busier and fuller. They recognize that they speak different languages when it comes to love and have learned each other’s language fluently. It’s the story of a couple- very much in love- dealing with feelings of inadequacy and struggling to make their marriage their top priority.

Every fourth Saturday they have a standing date in their play room; a date that Ian plans in its entirety. His plans unfailingly include tying her to something and flogging her senseless. As Ellie takes blow after blow she can feel the power shift between them and knows the point at which she becomes the one in charge, handcuffs notwithstanding.

The following excerpt is taking from chapter two of Love was Dirty Words

On the wall to her left, behind the door, was Ian’s rack of floggers, paddles and single tail whips. When they found something they each liked, they invested the money in buying a quality piece. His collection had grown exponentially over the past four years and they now had multiple styles of each tool – different materials and tails, lengths and handle styles. The remaining wall was nearly empty but for a series of eye bolts and hooks, some of them hung with lengths of chain. The eyebolts were Ellie’s favorite part of the room. The memories they held were the most cherished. She knew that to some, the room would seem barbaric and terrifying, but just walking through the door made her pussy wet.

She walked straight to the satin pillow in the center of the floor. She twisted her hair up into a quick ponytail using the binder on her wrist and knelt down. She arranged herself on the pillow, clasping her hands behind her back. She sat back on her heels, flattening the tops of her feet against the floor, bowed her head and closed her eyes, relying on her other senses for forewarning.

Ian had turned the thermostat up, the air felt warm and thick with Ellie’s anticipation. Her pulse roared in her eyes as she strained to hear something, anything in the silent bedroom. The lack of noise ate at her. It ate at her nerves and it ate at her patience, making her squirm internally.

When the door creaked open her heart rate sped up. She smelled Ian’s cologne and her hands trembled. The jangling of the buckle on her collar lit her senses up, making her hyper aware of the cool slide of the leather as he wrapped it around her neck.

Thanks for reading.

PG Excerpt #2 of Chase and Seduction by Randi Alexander

Here’s a scene where there just starting to give in to the desire that’s been burning between them while filming Reno’s movie during the last three months:

Chase laughed, then sobered. His fingers slid under her hair, caressing her neck softly as he said, “You are a beautiful woman.”

She’d often been called beautiful-but-healthy, which referred to those extra forty pounds that made the difference between being a model, and being just plain Reno Linden.

He ran his fingers up the back of her head. “Your hair is like satin. And I’ve never seen eyes that color. Amber.”

Trying to keep from grinning, she teased, “Reno.”

He laughed. “No, your eyes are amber.” Seconds slipped by before he tipped his head and brushed his lips over hers.

She closed her eyes and parted her lips to breathe in his essence.

With a groan, his arm came around her waist, and he pulled her closer. His tongue danced with hers, the unexpectedly sweet taste of tequila and tobacco making her hungry for more of him.

Chase ended the kiss then pressed his lips to her temple and began swaying them in a slow dance. Quietly, he sang, “You’re the one I’ve been looking for, You’re the light behind that hidden door, Can’t figure out where you’ve been all my life, but I don’t wanna be without you anymore.”

Something melted inside her as he sang the song he dedicated to her from the stage. This was where she belonged, in his arms, where she fit perfectly, a lost puzzle piece at last finding its place.

He said, “Look at me, Reno.”

*Sigh* I love that cowboy. He's romantic, but all man.

Trust and Love

BIO: The Triad, otherwise known as the characters in the head of Sharita Lira are three separate muses that are the driving force behind her small amount of success. Misses Lira sees her own life as one that is very ordinary, so instead of presenting herself out to the world, she created three personalities that continue to haunt her all hours of the night to get several WIP’s done at the speed of light, and push her to the brink of sheer exhaustion, but she loves it and that’s the reason she hasn’t told them to get the hell out  her head.

Trust and Love

Greetings friends! This is Michael Mandrake. I’m glad to be appearing at the Goddess Fish blog today to speak about a subject I learned a lot about while writing my new novella in the Bound for Romance anthology.

The topic involves BDSM or bondage which in most people’s eyes, it is seen as the kinkiest when it comes to sexual activity. There are so many misconceptions about it and while reading and researching it dispelled a lot of my own prejudices as well.

The biggest is that BDSM or bondage is cruel and there’s no way you can show love to someone you might tie up and spank till they’re red but in all actuality that cannot be further from the truth.

In the world of D/s, they take abuse very seriously. If word gets out about a Dom mistreating a sub, then that Dom will be outed and not be trusted by anyone in the community. Notice that word, trusted or trust. To be respected in the world of bondage, trust is the most important thing between the D/s in their relationship.

So you say, how so? Well, the one that’s supposed to be taking care of you, your Dom or Mistress, Sir, should understand your limitations, what you like and dislike. In most cases, a safe word is established so the sub can tell the Master when they’ve had enough. What could be a better example of trust than that?

The other wrong way of thinking is that there is no element of love in this type of relationship. So untrue. There is. It goes back to the trust as well as the respect the D/s show to one another in their bond. To submit to someone and allow them to tie you up and completely trust them with your well being is the biggest display of how the sub loves their Dom. In turn, being the provider, protector, and lover of an individual is huge as well.

Of course, there’s so much more to explain but again, this is only a guestpost. To find out more, just search for BDSM, bondage, D/s, etc and there is a wealth of knowledge and I don’t mean just Wikipedia. It goes far beyond that. To find out more you have to dig deeper. If you’re truly interested, I know you will.

I’d like to thank you for listening. This is in support of my next novella, Binding Justice which is in the Sizzler Editions Bound for Romance anthology along with Em Petrova, Sarah Bella, and Clarice Clique.

Here is a blurb and excerpt: Buylink

Binding Justice Book trailer

Blurb: Binding Justice, the only gay fiction romance story in the anthology is a tale of an older man seeking the assistance after losing his wife to cancer. Throughout his life, he has had the desire to be with another man but due to his strict upbringing as well as his time in the armed forces, Sire Jacobs has suppressed those feelings. At the insistence of his gay friend Gabe, he decides to attend a party to find someone of home he can bring this side out. Enter in Jarvis Densley, a twenty three year old gay male, shunned by his parents and looking for someone to mentor and love him. Apparently, both have similar interests but will Sire's darker desire be what keeps them apart?

Excerpt PG
Sire felt like an old man amongst so many young people. It had been years since he’d been in a place like this.
I’m only here in support of Gabriel.
He reminded himself of that several times. Sire was pretty sure no one coming through that door would catch his eye. By the looks of things he was spot on since the clientele looked to be exactly what he wasn’t looking for.
Did he even know what kind of man he wanted? A young, strong, and pretty one. Not a drag queen or flamer.
It amazed him he was going over this in his mind as he downed the last of his scotch while still taking in the sights. He never thought he’d get the chance to experience another man.
Still gazing, he noticed Gabe pulling someone’s hand through a crowd. When Sire locked eyes with Gabe, his friend nodded with a smile as the young man with him was turned to the right. After a couple of seconds, Sire got a glimpse of the guy. He was dressed in leather, looking very appealing even from a distance.
Whoa
Sire sat up on his stool, angling his neck trying to get a good look as the twosome threaded through small throngs of people. Before he knew it, Gabe made his way over with a tall, lanky, gentleman with burgundy hair, brown eyes, chiseled features, and a wry smile. He looked a lot like one of the men on the flyer Gabe had earlier; almost the same outfit, his makeup perfect.
His look was just what Sire wanted.
Gabe grinned, “Sire, this is Jarvis Densley. I been talking with him a few minutes about his choice of clothing. He looks a lot like you asked about, right?”
Sire drew up his lips, stroking his beard.
Jarvis Densley, ugly name for a beautiful man.
