Dance Partner excerpt -

The second dinner went better than the first and the short walk over didn’t seem to bother Jim.  They’d gotten a good table outside. Their food was excellent and Wendy couldn’t help but notice he definitely seemed more at ease with her.

And that’s exactly what gave her courage. “My turn next, right?”

“Your turn?”

“To ask you out.”

“Oh, I suppose so.”

“Good. I have a suggestion. Let’s have dinner at my place.” She hurried on though he hadn’t protested. “I never get to cook anymore so it would be fun for me. I live one flight up. Stairs, no elevator. Although I don’t think you’ll have much trouble with them.”

“I can do a flight of stairs. You want me to come to your home?”

“Yep. We can enjoy a meal, maybe watch a movie, just hang out.” She didn’t know what he was thinking but she wanted him to come.

“We could do that.”

He seemed stunned by her wide grin. How could he not see that the more she knew of him, the more she wanted to know?
