WELCOME TO THE GODDESS FISH PARTY

Grab a drink of bubbly and put your party hat on. Noise makers and confetti are optional.

A bit about me. Officially known as my bio.

Award-winning author, Bev Irwin, lives in London, Ontario, with three assorted cats. One that hid in her car when she moved from the farm and two others dropped off by her daughter on two different occasions. Her three children have flown the coup, but her granddaughter, Jasmine, is a frequent visitor.

As a registered nurse, she likes to add a touch of medical to her romance and mystery novels. She writes YA, children’s, and poetry. She prefers spending time in her garden, writing, and reading to being in the kitchen.

Her debut novel, WHEN HEARTS COLLIDE, a contemporary romance, came out in December of 2011 with Soul Mate Publishing under the pen name of Kendra James. Her YA paranormal, GHOSTLY JUSTICE, will be released by Black Opal Books on April 14th, 2012. MISSING CLAYTON, a suspense novel, will also be published with Black Opal Books in June.

Grab a drink and some munchies while I tell you my story.

In January I talked about my debut novel. Yeah! Finally after years I writing, I broke through and my first novel, WHEN HEARTS COLLIDE, came out in December with Soul Mate Publishing.

I am so grateful.

Well, now I even have more to be grateful for. The wall between published and aspiring to be a published author is finally coming down. Not only is my debut novel out there and people are actually buying it, but now I have two more, yes, I did say two more books coming out.

On April 14th, GHOSTLY JUSTICE, a paranormal youth novel comes out with Black Opal Books. I’m tooting my noise maker here.

And then in June or July, MISSING CLAYTON, a women’s suspense novel, (toot, toot) also comes out also with Black Opal Books.

Now about that wall. How much of that wall was my blocking? Was I not working the best way I could on my road to publication?

I started taking writing courses, buying books about writing (my shelves are filled with them and still I buy more), joining a critique group (a real one not one where everyone says your writing is wonderful), entered contests (and listened to their feedback). Then I started sending out to agents. But rarely do take a first time author unless they have a great marketing plan or a platform.

Now how many of us as first time authors have that? That is what we are trying to build.

So I continues to work at my craft, learning, writing, rewriting, and rewriting again. And I edited, and edited again.

Finally I had a product someone wanted to buy and readers would want to read.
So do the work then put yourselves out there. Risk it all. Go for the brass ring.
This is Bev Irwin who also writes under the pen name of Kendra James for her romance novels.

If you want to hear more about me and the other two contracts I have been blessed with, please visit my web site at http://www.bevirwin.com/, leave a comment and have a chance to win a free ebook of WHEN HEARTS COLLIDE.

If you witnessed an accident on a lonely stretch of highway, would you stop or continue on your way? For nurse Molly Tanner the choice is clear. Risking her own life, she pulls the seriously injured driver and his young daughter from the car. When Pearce begs her to pose as his wife to keep Gracie from foster care, memories of her unhappy childhood rush back. But can Molly keep up the charade without her own secrets being discovered and her heart from being shattered?

WHEN HEARTS COLLIDE came second in the Heart of the Rockies Contest.
