Tirgearr Publishing presents Kristi Ahlers

KRISTI AHLERS

I totally love history. In truth history to me is really nothing but a series of stories. Some more explicit and horrifying then others but still stories that educate. I was getting ready to do NaNoWriMo and was totally uninspired. I mean not only was I setting myself up to write a full novel in a month (I’m convinced only the creatively insane do this—go me!) but I had nothing to write. I mean zero characters talking to me. Now THAT is scarier than doing a novel in a month.

So I was bored and poked around and came across the Battle of Culloden and read and felt my heart break at what happened. Of course this led to my favorite writing question what if? And suddenly Laird Braden Ross started to talk to me, Yes, I’m aware his clan didn’t fight in this battle. Oh, he was a hottie and refused to be ignored. I went from silence to an incessant racket until I sat down with a spiral notebook (my plotting instrument of choice) and frantically began to plot. Before I knew it, His Heart’s Desire was ready for me to write. This title is coming out 29th of November and it’s my first full length effort with Tirgearr Publishing. It’s a paranormal romance and one that I hope everyone will be anxious to read.

But if paranormal isn’t your cuppa then please keep an eye out for my novella The Trouble with Mistletoe. Yes, there is a holiday novella coming your way Dec 6th. Donovan and Lily will help you celebrate the holidays.

2012 has been an awesome year for me. Check out all of my Trouble stories and join me next year. You just never know what’s around the corner with me.

What’s a woman to do when faced with the man of her dreams—literally?

Catrìona MacDougall has dreamed of a highland warrior for years and over the course of her life she’s fallen irretrievably in love with a man she can’t have. This won’t do and she vows it’s time to put the dream man on the shelf and find a real man who can make her melt. What should seem like a very uncomplicated plan soon proves to be anything but. Catrìona is about to get way more than she ever bargained on. Maybe dreams really can become reality.

Laird Braden Ross, once a brave warrior for his clan, was to marry Catrìona MacDougall. What started as a marriage to solidify clan relations turns into a love match.  But, when Braden leaves MacDougall land with his bride to be, they are ambushed by banished members of the Comyn clan under the direction of Morgana a druid priestess who has long held deep feelings for Braden. When those feelings weren’t returned, she vowed to make him pay. She kills Braden’s love and leaves her to die in his arms and then he is cursed into a loveless existence until his soulmate releases him. He’s been trying to reach out to her but she's convinced he’s nothing but a dream. He needs to prove to her they are meant to be before she banishes him to the afterlife.

I think you'll love it, Catherine! It's part of my Trouble Series! I wasn't even planning a holiday story and then Lily and Donovan started to demand their story and I couldn't say no. What's more romantic then love during the holidays? :) Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks, Isabo! That was at the time I wrote it my first paranormal romance. Since then I've realized that this seems to be a genre that works for me. So many possibilities! :)
