GIVEAWAY: Favorite Holiday Sweets

If you were to meet me, you'd quickly realize I enjoy food. It's quite obvious as I'm a plus size lady. But unlike many others (Paula Deen for example), I don't love to cook. It's so freaking boring. I rather be reading or writing a book. Thankfully, my hubby loves to cook and does so a few times a week. When it is my turn, we go out to eat or I pick up take-out. Occasionally, we'll eat sandwiches or salads. I do eat a lot of salads.

Funny thing is the other day I realized in my books, I rarely have the characters eating. Maybe because they're trying to protect each other and kill the bad guys, and don't have time to think of their stomachs.

Now with the holidays, my mind does turn to cooking. Of course, you can imagine what I make has nothing to do with what's good for you. Cookies, cakes, pies, and candies. Love making them. My favorites are Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies, German Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Pie, and Peanut Butter Potato Candy.

Yeah. I know what you're thinking, what's up with the Potato Candy? It's the only item without chocolate. Well, when it comes to a chocolate candy, what's better than chocolate candy? (Godiva or Hershey.) So you have to branch out. If you're interested in my recipe, be sure to check out Avon's blog on December 24. (www.avonromance.com) I'm calling it Rex's Peanut Butter Potato Candy. He's six-five and dangerous, a big over-sized teddy bear of a man, and he has a sweet tooth. By the way, Rex is the hero in my third book, CIRCLE OF DECEPTION. He also shows up in CIRCLE OF DESIRE and CIRCLE OF DANGER as a secondary character.

By the way, DESIRE and DANGER are presently $1.99 for e-format. (And available in paperback at the usual price.) They're all stand-alones, but in case, you want to read the whole series, you can buy and read them before DECEPTION comes out on December 26. Just in time for you to spend your gift cards for Amazon and Barnes & Noble, right?

And my blog tour that our hostesses (thank you, Goddess Fish) set up starts December 31. Be sure to come and visit. You can find out the places on my websiteblog or Facebook. And of course, Goddess Fish's Website and Facebook.

Yes, I'm starting off the New Year right!  So tell me what are your favorite sweets to make for the holidays? A lucky commenter will receive a copy (of their choice) of CIRCLE OF DESIRE or CIRCLE OF DANGER (e-format).  Winner will be announced here in the comments section by 9 p.m. central time USA on December 3.

I'm a sucker for rich chocolate fudge - in fact, I made some last night!

I'm also a sucker for a big sexy guy who cooks (in any sense of the word :)) so please count me in for your giveaway! :)

My favorite holiday dessert is red velvet cake. Of course you would never be able to pull me away from Paula Deans chocolate cake with chocolate icing. You make the dressing on the stove and while its still hot, pour it over the cake. It soaks in the cake and hardens just a bit. . OMG. . . Heavenly for chocolate lovers. It’a her Savannah Chocolate Cake.

cdescoteauxwrites, I love fudge. And Rex doesn't cook in the book (in the proper sense), but he's smoking hot! LOL! Thanks.

Hey, Debby, is a whirl the same as a smoothie?

Karen Dailey, that sounds like the kind my grandmother use to make. It was so good. Yumm.

Potato candy? Weird! I am not a big fan of chocolate and I don't care for nuts in my desserts, either. I do LOVE those pumpkin rolls that seem to appear at the holidays--pumpkin sponge cake rolled around a cream cheese frosting. YUM. I also LOVE most varieties of Christmas cookies (without nuts).

Catherine Lee, the potato is actually used as a hardening agent in the candy. You really don't taste it for all of the confectioners sugar mixed with it along with the peanut butter rolled in the middle. But I do love pumpkin rolls too. Thanks for stopping by.
