Please Enjoy a Bit of True Identity by Lila Munro

You have to leave the city of your comfort…

Jillian Stewart was as straight laced as they came. Or was she? After one man tearing her down to her very foundation, she’s set out on a path of self-discovery. Pursuing a Master’s degree in sociology, Jill’s determined to wrap her mind around the complexities of the BDSM world. Getting into a good doctorate program won’t be easy so she’s pulling out all the stops. After disregarding her professor’s warning against subjecting herself to the lifestyle, Jill finds she’s drawn to her tutor. But this isn’t her world. Is it?

and go into the wilderness of your intuition…

A career Marine Corps officer, Stephan Sachelles has always chosen to keep his lifestyle choices to himself. He avoids the underground house parties on the base to frequent a club miles from home in an effort to protect his privacy. Steph’s been a Master at Steele Image for years and he's enjoyed the company of many of the subs there with no intention of ever settling on just one. How would he make that work…it wasn’t like he could convert his base house into the dungeon of his dreams. Then Jill walks through the door. Steph’s intuition tells him there’s wild abandon inside her fighting for a chance at life. In the depths of her eyes, far behind the over analysis of everything she encounters, Steph sees the heart of a true submissive. But the resistance Jill puts up is driving Steph crazy. While she’s a good student, she just won't let go. Fighting his own internal battle, Steph finds he wants nothing more than to be the only Master to help her find her true identity.

Jill held her ground a few minutes longer and knocked again a bit louder. Just as she determined it was useless and backed up to go, she found herself bouncing off another body. A hard as a rock body to be exact. Gasping, she whirled around and looked straight into a bare chest. Slowly she raised her eyes and looked up until she stared into a set of dark, almost menacing eyes.

“Excuse me,” Jill squeaked, not believing she hadn’t even heard anyone approach. “I’m so sorry. Do you? I’m not sure…” Jill hooked a thumb toward the several stories tall brick building.

“Are you lost?” the man said, turning up one corner of his very full mouth.

“I…uh…” Jill stammered, backing up, her heart pounding in her chest.

She looked him up and down and determined she just might be in the right place after all. The man that loomed over her wore a black leather vest with fringe across the lapels. Jill’s eyes wandered further south down tanned, ripped abs that sank into a pair of black leather pants stretched tightly over solid thighs and a solid...Dear God. Taking another step back, she bumped into the door and glanced back at his face. His hard, clean shaven jaw was set, his lips drawn in a half-smile. He looked down at her and Jill could’ve sworn he could see every sin she’d ever committed etched on her soul. He’d probably make a good priest if he wasn’t so scary. Better suited to be a sin eater than sin listener actually. The man ran one hand over the short, spiky black hair on top of his head before moving in on her and trapping her against the door with his hands strategically placed on either side of her head.

“Sweetheart, are you going to answer the question?” his raspy voice grated along her skin.

“I don’t know.” Jill finally found her voice.

“Don’t know what? Whether you’re lost or whether you’re going to answer the question?” the man said a bit more softly, his gaze into her eyes never wavering.

“I don’t know if I’m lost,” she admitted, realizing something about the way he stared at her made her want to avert her eyes from his. As if…as if it was the right thing to do.

“What exactly are you looking for?”

“A club?” Jill questioned herself as much as she did him. “I think maybe I’ve made a horrible mistake.” She tried to duck under his left arm only to have it come down and encircle her waist as he pressed her back against the cold, hard metal door.

“Not so quick, little one,” he said. “I think the only mistake you’ve made is mistaking tonight for office games night. That’s next week.”

“Office games?” Jill scrunched her eyebrows at him.

“Yes, sweetheart. But nice girl Friday outfit if I do say so myself.” The man ran a finger down her jaw and flirted with the collar of her blouse before traveling further down, lifting the edge of her bodice and peeking down her front. “I don’t see any sure signs you’re attached. Want to play when we go inside?”

“No, I don’t,” Jill snapped. “I’m not here for office games or games of any sort. Is this or is this not Steele Image?”

“Yes it is,” he answered. “And if you’re not here to play, sweetheart, what exactly are you doing here?”

“I’m researching,” she explained with haste, running one hand up her flushed throat. “I’m a graduate student and this place is part of my thesis project.”

The hulking man chuckled and ran the pad of his thumb over the jumping pulse at her wrist before pulling back. “Really? Do graduate students normally change their minds and flee the scene before completing their research?”

“I wasn’t running,” Jill told him a little more sternly than she meant to. But, damn the man, he smelled incredible and that alone seemed to set a steady stream of sweat trickling between her breasts. Liking her subjects was unacceptable. Besides, this one terrified her. “I couldn’t find the doorbell. I knocked and no one came to the door so I thought I was in the wrong place.”

“No, you’re definitely in the right place,” he answered, pulling her to his chest, reaching around her and tugging the door open. “Welcome to Steele Image.”
