History's Mysteries, Ghosts and finding the Happily-Ever-After...

By Debbie Peterson

Did you ever get to see the television series History's Mysteries? They provided fun and food for thought on a plethora of things. From the mysteries of Easter Island, the Bloody Tower of London, the Ghost Plane of the Desert, to Ghost Ships and everything in between. I loved that series and mourned when it ended. I guess it's because I have a love of world history and find the events that have never been solved fascinating. I also happen to love the paranormal—ghosts, vampires, werewolves, and romance. Did I mention the romance?

I suppose then it should come as no surprise that I have a tendency to combine some of these elements in the stories I write. In my first paranormal romance published by The Wild Rose Press, "Spirit of the Rebellion," I combined the ghost of a murdered Civil War captain, framed for treason, and a Norse historian. I sent the couple on a quest to clear his name and during the journey, they find their own happily-ever-after.

Now, in "Spirit of the Revolution,"  Mathias McGregor, Revolutionary War Ranger and spy meets his demise at the hands of the English redcoats before he can deliver a secret message to General George Washington. This doesn't set well and for over two centuries he and his companions brood over the failure. But then fate steps in.  Jolena Michaelsson, the lovely master violinist and latest resident to invade his home, just happens to hold the key to his final mission...

Want the Blurb?

Only divine intervention could have guided Jolena Leigh Michaelsson to the doorstep of a ramshackle manor in Pennsylvania, bringing her face-to-face with the man she has waited her whole life to find. There is just one problem. Mathias McGregor died two centuries ago…

Mathias, Revolutionary War ranger and spy, battles his conscience and his heart when he finds himself falling for the beautiful violinist invading his home. Jolena is mortal and deserves far more than what he as a spirit can offer her.

When Jolena’s family motto leads them to unearth a valuable coded message—the very message Mathias died trying to deliver to General Washington—Jolena vows to unravel the mystery surrounding the cryptic document. But someone else wants the message, and he’ll stop at nothing to get it, not even murder.

Divine intervention brought them together—will it also allow them to find forever?

I invite you to come along on my Excerpt Tour, where you will find little snippets taken from the book! I'll be giving away a custom made replica of Jolena's necklace, as well as an E copy of my book, "Shadow of the Witte Wieven." I hope you'll join us!
