We
live in the Information Age. Everyone has a smart phone these days and is usually
plugged into some device or social media venue for at least a few hours each
day. So what’s your preferred social media platform? My teenage sons are usually streaming video
from YouTube, but my platform(s) of choice are Facebook and Twitter. Although I’ve
recently started to dabble with Pinterest, too, just for fun … and, man, do I
love Pinterest. I never realized how visual I am. And how much those beautiful
visual images can relax me.
So
what’s it for you? Do you Pin, Tweet, Post? Or are you doing something totally
new and avant garde? I’d love to hear about it.
If
you’re a writer, or any type of entrepreneur, really, it’s important that you
know which platform your targeted audience uses most. I write romance. Most of
my readers, women between the ages of 18 and 65 are using primarily Facebook,
but many romance readers between the ages of 20 and 50 are on Twitter sharing
books they loved. So it makes sense for me to be on both. I’ve found that
Pinterest enhances my use of both Facebook and Twitter.

Since
I love Audible.com, I thought I’d give away a free audio book to one lucky person
who comments on this post. Tell me what social media you prefer and you could
win a free audio book of your choice (as long as it's available from audible.com)! Fun, right? So, come on. Tell me. What’s
your social media addiction of choice?

WELL...I'm not "addicted" to any, but I do a little Fb, a little tweeting, but hardly any pinning. I think that female readers, like me, are very busy. We work. We have families. In my spare time, I have to decide--would I rather read or be on social media sites? Overall, I'd rather be reading. It's too easy to waste a LOT of hours on Fb, Twitter, & Pinterest.

Cathy ~ I totally understand. I enjoy Facebook because of the connectivity, but, honestly, if it weren't a necessity for my profession (writing/author), I'd probably do a lot less of it, too! Although, I must say Facebook is a good way to connect with family and friends, or just to find out what people are up to.
Happy Monday! And Happy Reading!
The only thing I do is blog. I don't belong to FB or use Twitter. I can't find enough hours in the day to do everything I want to as it is so I can't imagine getting addicted to MORE social media, lol.
