Do You Like Western Time Travels? Give-a-Way

I sure enjoy writing them. I guess my enjoyment stems from my childhood and wanting to live back in the old days. Wouldn't it be fun to wear those long dresses and soft leather shoes that buttoned up to mid calf? And the hats! Weren't they pretty? Of course, if I was a farmer's wife, I'd probably wear a sun bonnet and there is nothing attractive about them except maybe the fabric some of them are made from. A woman didn't want the sun to damage her skin, a habit we'd be wise to take more seriously in this day and time. The one pictured here has the neck skirt that adds even more protection.

My grandmother had many sunbonnets made from feedsack material. When she went outside she always wore one. She'd also put on a long-sleeved shirt and wear gloves. Some women wore straw hats with large brims to protect them but they were not as affective as the bonnet. I can only imagine what a bonnet would do for my carefully arranged hair style.
