Punk Bears and Christmas Snow ~ Dreams Come True

Do you love a white hot romance? One that's a little off the beaten path? Then Christmas Glow might be the book for you. I've always liked writing second chance stories and when Pixie and Nitro spoke to me, I had to tell their story. Now you might have seen title and wondered why I mentioned punk bears. Grin. Pixie is in charge of the Teddy Bear department up at the North Pole. She's also known for taking liberties with the bears. Sure, she's got bears that are the traditional colors and styles, but she also loves to think outside the box. Some of her bears have mowhawks. Some are green. Some have rhinestones and others have studs. The best part of it all, as much as Santa might complain, the bears are a big hit. Kids and adults request them. So this year she's allowed one wish. Yes. Santa gives his elves a wish and hers is to see Glow. You don't know Glow? They are only the biggest punk band out now. Anyway, she wants to see them. Oh, and the guy she met while at the one and only concert she attended. Will Santa give in and grant her request? Will Nitro still be interested? And will they both get their heart's desire? You'll have to read Christmas Glow to find out!

So thrilled to be here!

Thank you Goddess Fish! I love coming over to your site - it's always a lot of fun. Hi to all my fellow Naughty Changelings. And most important, hello to all the wonderful readers out there - without whom my stories would still be written, but would end up in boxes upon boxes (or backups upon backups now-a-days). You are what makes writing so much fun!

So, tell me, what’s on your Christmas wish list this year? Nipple clamps? That new leather crop you spied in the window of your favorite adult store? Maybe something more adventurous like a DP vibrator? Toys, don’t get me wrong, are fabulous items to have. A must have, if you ask me. But what if you could receive similar pleasures without them? And without the multiple men to make that dream come true?

Imagine being bathed by a tongue that can tantalize your nipples and stroke across his cock at the same time. Or how about the infamous double penetration aspect, with one beauty of a male providing the stimulation? Yes, I do wonder about these scenarios late at night. It’s the great big “what if” factor that keeps my fingers typing.

Seriously, though, wouldn’t these touches and sensations send you sky-high?
In my latest release, Santa’s Helpers: Zarakion’s Tip, my heroine finds out the answer is yes, yes, yes!

This Santa's Helper is paranormal, and it involves fantasy creatures. An elf and a demon, to be precise. Why go otherworld and not use contemporary humans? Easy, because I wanted the intimacy between the characters to occur in such a way that it would be impossible for humans to manipulate without the toy factor. I wanted skin on skin. Flesh to flesh. With all the scents and sounds and delights that can only come from one touch to another. Toss in the fact that I love to write about elves, and this story practically wrote itself.

To me, elves are the epitome of sensual. I see them as lithe, petite, open and uninhibited creatures that are always willing to try something new. In this case, my elf, Taryn, works for a special delivery system of the North Pole. She’s a newbie to the job and the other elves arrange for her take the dreaded trip to deliver packages to Hell. When she arrives and meets the Demon in Receiving she’s intimated at first, but true to her nature, curiosity wins. As the story unfolds, Taryn and her Demon, Zarakion, explore the many ways the two are different, yet match so well together.

Perhaps while you’re shopping this Christmas season and need a few minutes to unwind, you’ll consider picking up a copy of Zarakion’s Tip. I will say this, the antics of my characters may not be possible in the “norm” of humans, but it will make you take a new look at your toy collection and consider what other items you’ll want to add to your naughty list.

Shades of Naughty - Devil Under the Mistletoe

In my newest series, Holidays are Hell, my main characters are Perdition Guides (PDs). These guides have been conscripted to carry the newly dead to Hell. But their jobs include much more than just escorting souls. They must also figure out where their “supplicants” belong in Hell according to the “sins” they’ve committed.
In writing these books, I’ve come up against the good or evil question repeatedly, because the heroines my PDs escort to Hell are not angelic, or they wouldn’t be headed for Hell. However, nobody wants to root for an evil heroine, so they need to be naughty but likeable. That’s not an easy feat if you believe that good and bad are black and white. Personally, while I do believe there are truly good and genuinely evil people in the world, I also believe there’s a lot of room in between these extremes. I think that’s where most of us belong.

So what tilts a supplicant toward the “Eternity in Hell” side? And what level of naughtiness is still redeemable (retaining the heroine’s likeability)? Here’s what I’ve come up with to help determine if a supplicant is too naughty to be likeable. Answering yes to any of the following would almost always put the supplicant in the “not redeemable” category:
  • Was an innocent badly hurt, emotionally or physically by the misdeed? Probably not good.
  • Were children or animals hurt? NOT acceptable!
  • Was there violence or violent intent involved in the transgression? Usually not good.
  • Was the intent of the misdeed to improve the supplicant’s circumstances at the expense of an innocent? Nasty business.
  • Did someone die or become permanently disabled from the offense? Definitely a no no.

So what kind of transgressions does that leave? Victimless crimes, accidental offenses, wrongs committed against evil people for good reasons, self-destructive crimes, offense resulting from ignorance rather than intent, petty theft, white collar crime against evil organizations, politics (though some of us might find it hard to forgive a heroine for being a politician…hehehe).

In Holidays are Hell, there is a Dante-like division of Hell. Hell is divided into several layers and supplicants are assigned according to the seriousness of the sins these souls committed during their lives. PDs have to present facts to a judging body in Hell to determine if their supplicants belong in the innermost layer which encompasses the fiery pits or an exterior layer that is pretty much like Earth. In the course of this discovery, the guides have to spend time with their supplicants. And, since these are erotic romances, that enforced familiarity usually breeds some pretty sexy results. In the first book of the series, Devil Under the Mistletoe, Damian Noire and Amanda Wright discover that their time together leads to lust…and pain…and much, much more. I hope you’ll check it out!

~~*~~

Perdition guide Damian is supposed to escort sexy Amanda to Hell. But he’d much rather keep her.

Damian Noire is a Perdition Guide. He escorts people whose souls are stained to their rightful spots in Hell. Business always seems to pick up around the Holidays and this Christmas is no exception. Damian’s assignment is to bring a beautiful young woman to Hell to stand before the judgment assembly, and then take her to her assigned circle of Hell. It sounds simple. But it’s about to become the hardest assignment he’s ever performed.

Amanda Wright might have been unjustly judged. She might not belong in Hell at all. Problem is, Damian really kind of likes her. He especially likes enjoying her lush, willing body under the mistletoe. If he gets her the judgment she truly deserves, he’s probably going to lose her forever. But if he doesn’t help her, an innocent may spend eternity in Hell. It appears to be a lose/lose situation on all fronts. Proving once again that holidays truly are hell!

Snowflake - Writing A Series By The Seat Of My Pants - Cynthia Sax

Snowflake, my Christmas story for 2012, is the third story of a trilogy about the fairy killing Christmas demon (Nerva, the hero). All of the stories (Bitsy’s Christmas Demon, Clothing Optional, and Snowflake) can be read on their own. When read together, however, readers see the terrible things Nerva has done and why he questions whether or not he deserves love.

Being a pantser (a writer who writes by the seat of her pants, with no plot decided upon before she starts writing), I had no idea how this series would end until I wrote Snowflake. This process is fun yet scary. The first two stories had been published. What if Nerva died? Or worse, what if he couldn’t be stopped?

But the flipside is… I couldn’t wait to write Snowflake. I wanted to learn more about Nerva. I wanted to meet the female who would love a bad, bad demon like Nerva. I wanted to find out how it ended. This ended up as my favorite story of the series. Both the heroine and hero are deliciously bad and wonderful together.

Santa's Helpers: Her Christmas Elf by Sarah MƤkelƤ

Hey everyone! I'm really excited to be part of the Santa's Helpers series this year. It was great fun to write. I hope you all enjoy the excerpt.

Her Christmas Elf
Sarah MƤkelƤ

Traveling alone in Finland around Christmas isn't exactly what Vera Hayes had imagined she'd be doing. When her longtime boyfriend dumps her before the trip at the last minute, she decides to go anyways. However, she gets lost in a forest in Lapland and starts to panic until she runs into a magical man who looks suspiciously like an elf without the pointy ears. Pekka, one of Santa's elves, soothes away her worry and helps her find her way back to her cabin, giving her a Christmas Eve to remember.

Excerpt:

Shivering, Vera Hayes watched the soft snow falling around her. The landscape was so pretty and so dangerous at this chilling temperature, especially considering she had no clue where she was. She'd gone on a walk when the sun had been up, but now darkness rapidly descended on the forest.

Damn it!

This trip had been nothing but trouble, and she'd been stupid to actually take it. Her ex-boyfriend Steve had wanted this, not her. She'd gone ahead with it thinking it would help free her somehow, but this was far from freeing.

Vera stomped her feet and huddled deeper into her coat, which was starting to feel a little too thin for the current weather. She leaned against a birch tree and hunched her shoulders, beyond frustrated with her current predicament.

Snow dusted her, and she scanned the forest again. Hope failed her, and she set off walking again. Damn, damn, damn.

Faint rumbling sounded in the distance behind her and she stopped. The noise grew louder until she could identify it.

Hooves. Lots and lots of hooves. Adrenaline flooded her veins, but her body froze in place from fear.

In the distance, she spotted a herd of reindeer running in her direction. A quick look around her showed no trees with low-hanging branches. So much for easy climbing. She reached for the closest birch, its bark broken by the frost. She wrapped her hands around it and began to climb.

Behind her, the noise grew louder. Among the trees, a herd of reindeer led by a massive gray bull trampled its way through the forest. Snow and frost caved beneath their hooves with almost no resistance.

The glance startled her, and her feet slipped down the birch. Panic struck her chest as she dropped to the ground.

To her left, she saw a small clearing among the trees. She tried to sprint through the almost knee-deep snow, but her progress was too slow. With the herd not far behind, she screamed. When would this nightmare end?

Just as she reached the clearing, a man grabbed her by the arm. He pulled her toward him then and shoved her against a tree, his firm body nestled against her back.

Her breath came out in pants, and not only from her running. "Let me go," she yelled, fear audible in her voice.

"Hush. The herd will ignore you." The man's low, accented voice calmed her a little.

For a moment, Vera considered kicking him and racing away, but his grip tightened on her. He pressed her tighter to the tree. His body molded to hers as if they were puzzle pieces. She only had a second to ponder that as the herd of reindeer stampeded through the clearing.

The large reindeer bull slowed to a stop beside them. Intelligence gleamed in its black, glaring eyes as it waited for the rest of the herd to pass.

"She won't hunt your kin, Old One. I'll look after her," the man said. The reindeer turned its gaze to the man and snorted, shaking its head.

Vera trembled. The cold and numbness she'd been fighting against was draining away her energy. She barely made out the man saying something she couldn't catch. Her attention now focused on the huge bull that stood close enough for her to reach out her hand and touch. The other reindeer were easily her height from hoof to head, but this one made them look small in comparison.

The reindeer stared at her then blew a cloud of steam from its nostrils, obviously not impressed, before galloping after the rest of the herd.

She watched it go until it was barely in sight, then the man grabbed her shoulders. He spun her around, and his gaze dipped to take her in. His expression soured, and he returned his gaze to hers. "What are you doing out here dressed like that?"

Surprise at his audacity had her pulling away from him. His clothing didn't exactly inspire confidence in his sense of fashion either. From what she could tell, his clothing looked to be made of animal pelt. She placed her glove-covered hand against his chest and marveled at the sleek fur.

He snagged her wrist yet didn't move her hand. "There's a storm coming. You shouldn't be out here. You'll die." His gaze whipped over her again, and he grimaced. "Where are you staying?" His words held a melodic lilt that was so pleasant.

"At the cabins." Her teeth chattered a bit more, and she huddled in on herself.

He gave her a quizzical stare then cursed an almost lyrical string of sound. "You're far from safety. What are you doing way out here?"

What did he mean? She hadn't been walking for that long. Or maybe it just hadn't seemed so.

He scooped her into his arms, and she considered falling asleep in the warmth of his grip. But she didn't know anything about him, and after what had just happened with the reindeer...

Subbing For Santa

Each year I’m inspired by the Christmas theme chosen by Margaret Reilly, owner/publisher of Changeling Press. You never know what idea Margaret will toss out to her authors. When the call went out for Santa’s Helpers, the hot Christmas theme stories for 2012, I had to write a story about a werewolf subbing for Santa.
My story this year is Wolf Run and I’d like to tell you a little bit about it.
A winter storm has closed the highway to Ridgetop, but two werewolves refuse to disappoint the orphans at Iverson School on Christmas morning. Acting as Santa's helpers, Cade and Oliver pack the presents on sleds and make a wolf run.
Iverson employees, Stella and Charlotte are waiting for the gifts to arrive, but are the sisters prepared for two hunky werewolves and the most memorable Christmas of their lives?
Merry Christmas
B.J.

Here’s a short excerpt.
Cade Winter stepped out of the ranger office and approached the vintage red pickup. The driver, wearing a Santa hat and sporting a long, white beard, rolled down the window. “Merry Christmas, Officer. I need to get to Ridgetop. A slide has closed the highway, and I’d like to use your road.”

There were only two ways to reach the small town of Ridgetop, the state highway or the road that ran through pack land.

“Sorry, the road’s closed,” Cade said. A big storm had slammed into the area yesterday, and it was still snowing. “If this weather holds, it will be closed for days.”

His shoulders drooping, the man sighed. “I don’t know what to do. Every Christmas I play Santa at the Iverson School. If I don’t get up the mountain, these presents won’t be under the tree tomorrow morning.”

Iverson School was one of the best private boarding schools in the state and the financial lifeblood of Ridgetop. Most of its students came from wealthy families, but every year the school offered two slots to underprivileged orphans. Most of the children went home for Christmas, but the orphans remained.

Cade glanced at the bed of the pickup. A tarp covered the cargo. “That’s quite a load.”

“Every year my church group buys gifts for the orphans. My family’s all gone, so I deliver the presents every Christmas Eve.” The bearded man chuckled. “The little ones think Santa drives a truck instead of a sleigh. The older ones know better, but they like the presents just the same.”

“You look like you could use a cup of coffee. I just made a fresh pot. Will you join me?”

The plump man climbed out of the truck. Besides the Santa hat, he was wearing a red shirt, jeans held up by suspenders and boots. In a red suit, he’d look like Santa.

“Thanks. I’m Alden Watts.”

They shook hands and stepped back into the heated office. Cade poured two mugs. “Thanks, I’m about froze,” Alden said. “Heater in the truck don’t work like it used to.”

Cade leaned back in his chair and sipped his coffee. He thought about Alden’s problem and the kids at the school. The image of the new office manager he’d helped with a flat last week came to mind. She was a knockout with long blonde hair and bright green eyes, but it was her scent that made her unforgettable. Cade still had Stella Summers’ thank-you note in his desk drawer. They’d had a laugh about their last names. She’d said if he was ever in Ridgetop to look her up.

Cade had planned to do just that, after the holidays, but maybe fate had intervened. “Alden, I think I know how to get those gifts up to Ridgetop.”

Happy Holidays
