Excerpt for "The Unwilling Widow"


Blurb-
Jennifer Larson, having lost her husband, friends and the perfect life she’d had plan, now faces the biggest challenge of her life, moving into an unplanned future. While the rest of the Executive Wife Club is still wallowing in the past, Jen is tempted into the future by a sexy chiropractor, Hagan Chaney.

Excerpt -
Jen gathered her strength and followed Hagan through the house. The easy flow of his long limbs showed incredible grace for a big man. Yet, the temptation he represented, she couldn’t pursue. Not now, not with everyone watching her, they expected her to act like a grieving widow. If she didn’t, they forever brand her as an unloving wife.
She hated the farce, but she had no choice. No one knew her marriage had turned into a sham long before Craig died.
A few minutes later, she walked outside and breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, with the showing done, she could return Hagan to his office. She locked the front door and stored the key in the lockbox. Spinning on her heels, she faced Hagan.
At the end of the porch, one foot already positioned on the first step with a hand out to assist her, he waited. “So, Jen, since we’re done for today, why don’t we meet tomorrow night for dinner?”
Jen edged backward and her butt hit the closed door. The urge to run away from his undeniable magnetism, and the problems he’d cause, sent her mind into a tail-spin.
What in the hell should I do now?

So You Learn a Little About Me

I've been telling you all about my book the "The Unwilling Widow."

Thought you might also want to learn a little about me.

No, I am not a widow. The thought of it freeze my heart and I just want to cry. I've been married to my wonderful husband for twenty-five years and have two wonderful boys, who are in college.

My husband works in the logistic industry and has been the CFO for a number of small transportation company. Yes, I'm sorta of a part of the Executive Wives Club.

My days are filled with writing and surfing the internet. You can probably tell that by the number of places you can find me.

Learn about the Other Women in The Executive Wives Club Series

The four ladies are all married to executives for Mama Turner's Transport and Logistic Carrier. The company is sold because the ex-owner's wife has cancer. The executives travel to Settle to talk to the new owners.

One fatal car wreck...
Everyone's lives changed...

Jennifer Larson is married to Craig Larson, the COO of Mama Turner's TLC. Jen, a realtor, has worked hard to make her life with Craig.  They have a nice house, a wonderful lab name George, and are living the dream of a successful couple. Yet, no one knows there dirty little secret.

Briena Sullivan's husband, Eric Sullivan is the Chief Technology Officer. They live a comfortable life and have two adorable kids, Allison and Ethan. Brie is shocked by the gift Eric leaves behind and fights her parents to stay in Nebraska with her friends.

Sylvia, the amazon woman of the group, is married to Robert Donovan. As the CFO, Bob spends long hours at work and leaves the parenting dues of his daughter to Sylvia. Only the talk he had with her before his trip to Settle leaves Sylvia wondering about their life together.

Marianne Clark is married to Jack, the CEO of the company. She has grace, pose, and uses all her skill to hold the group together. With two grown sons, who don't need her, she knows these women do and she is going to do everything in her power to help them.

Each has their own book to find a new love and make a new life for herself.
