R-Rated EXCERPT
Noah's heartbeat raced as two big hands came around to rest on the bar, effectively trapping him. He recognized the ring on the man's left hand; it was the hot bartender, back from his break. Kade leaned over Noah's shoulder and whispered. "You're not leaving already." Hot breath against Noah's ear turned up his core temperature and he practically melted into the man. "We haven't had a drink yet." The bartender nipped his lobe.
Noah's cock filled. Tongue-tied, he could only sit there with his mouth open as Toby got up and the man at his back replaced the redhead.
He placed a possessive hand on Noah's thigh. "I'm Kade."
"Noah."
Two more shots appeared in front of them.
"Drink up, Noah. I want a dance."
The next thing he knew, they were on the dance floor, and Kade was grinning seductively, his hands on Noah's hips holding him firmly in place. He made a note to tell Jesse everything he'd heard about werewolves was true—they were sexy as hell.
"Put your arms around me, Noah," Kade murmured as he pulled Noah a little closer.
Noah shuddered; he had consumed just enough alcohol to loosen his inhibitions, and he circled the Lycan's waist. Sweat and animal musk filled his nose and the music lulled his brain.
Kade nuzzled his neck. "You smell real good and you have such pretty lips." He hauled Noah in for a kiss. An insistent tongue stabbed at the seam of Noah's mouth until he surrendered and opened to it. Stop, Noah, now. He forced himself to pull back. "Oh… Geez, Kade, let's have another drink."
"We will." Kade pressed his hands on the small of Noah's back, forcing him closer still. "Later." Noah's head spun. It could have been the alcohol, or Kade's erection grinding against his own, but he had no will to argue.
"Feel what you do to me." Kade's hard length pressed against him, and Noah suppressed a shudder. "So, what are you going to do about it?"
Oh, God. Noah felt his face flame and moaned into another hot kiss.
"I want to touch you." Kade whispered against his cheek.
Noah could no more stop him than he could stop breathing.
Kade's hands slipped past the waistband of Noah's jeans, gripped his ass, and squeezed. Long fingers traced his crack, and one circled his hole. Noah's knees buckled and he let out a moan. Oh, God. Don't stop. "Fuck, Kade, you need to stop."
Kade held him up and murmured in his ear, "You don't really want me to stop, do you?"

Running With the Pack

I’ve been fascinated by fangs and fur since I first watched Lon Chaney Jr. transform into the wolfman. Movies like that one fed my fantasies. I sympathized with the tortured hero and loved his dangerous edge. Now I like to write about the dark, seductive alpha males, preferably of the Lycan variety. You know the type. Sinfully good-looking, a bit arrogant and capable of bestowing multiple orgasms at a moment’s notice. He’s a lethal predator one minute and a possessive, protective lover the next. Yum!

Here's an excerpt from my August release. It's a MM wolf-shifter romance. Leave a comment for a chance to win a copy or your choice of an ebook from my backlist.

Damian and the Doctor
Symbiotic Mates: 4

A disfigured vampire and a captured wolf find solace in each other. But when Doc shifts to human form, will he still look past Damian's scarred face or turn away in disgust?

Available at Amazon:

EXCERPT

Doc woke, tried to stretch, and realized he couldn't move. Lying on the floor, bound at his wrists, and ankles, the first pangs of anxiety clawed at his gut. Squirming to get some life back in his numb limbs, he stared up at the ceiling. Is it day or night? The absence of a window made him claustrophobic and the loss of freedom and movement made his wolf antsy. Frustration got the better of him and he banged his head against the hardwood floor like a kid throwing a tantrum. It didn't help.

Right about now his Alpha would be throwing his own tantrum, cursing the vampires for taking his men, and working on a plan to get them back. Make it soon, boss. He had to give the bloodsuckers credit for knowing isolation would be the worst possible torture for a Lycan.
Wolves are pack animals, social creatures that need the company of their own kind. How long could he endure this sensory deprivation without going wacko?

Every squeak or movement outside the room made his pulse quicken and his heart race. Stay cool, calm, and collected, Doc. Don't give the bloodsuckers the reaction they want. Cunning bastards, they knew every mind trick in the book. Well, he knew a few tricks of his own and maybe now was the time to play his hand. First, he needed to get out of the restraints. He tested their strength and relaxed a little when he discovered his ruse had worked.

The vampires weren't as smart as they were cracked up to be. If they were, they would have realized he was holding his wrists slightly apart when they tied them; same thing with his ankles. His hands had been bound in front of his body, another mistake on their part. He gripped the rope with his teeth while he wriggled his hands out of the restraints. Freeing his feet was a piece of cake.

His limbs tingled as dormant nerve endings woke up and he stretched to get the blood flowing. Ignoring the sensation of pins and needles, he got to his feet to check out his prison. He could see just fine in the dark, but there wasn't much to see in the small, empty room, just four walls and a locked exit. With an ear to the door, his enhanced hearing picked up breathing sounds on the other side: four vampire guards. He could smell them too. Coppery vampire stink drifted under the door and wafted through the room, offending his hypersensitive nostrils and tempting his wolf to sit up and howl.

Stupid mutt! If the animal had used those senses when he really needed them, he wouldn't be in this fix.

Hunter and the Hawk (Excerpt #2)

EXCERPT #2
A brawny wolf took the stool next to him and caught his eye in the mirror. The man flashed a toothy smile and leaned over to whisper in Hunter's ear. "Buy ya a beer?"
Hunter wrinkled his nose at the stench of unwashed dog and held up his bottle. "No, thanks." Doyle always struck him as a cruel bastard, a yobbo, not someone he wanted to get up close and personal with.
Persistent, the man laid a hairy paw on Hunter's upper thigh and squeezed. "How 'bout a dance? They're playing our song."
Hunter turned his head swiftly, his lip curling back in a low, threatening growl.
Doyle backed off and put his hands up in surrender. "Some other time."
Hunter ignored him. He was here to keep an eye out for trouble, not start it. Why prove the Alpha right? Rafe would just try harder to find him a new mate.
He and Rafe went way back, more like brothers than friends. Even though he knew the man had his best interests at heart, Hunter didn't want him choosing his mate again. Yeah, he was frustrated as hell, but this time he wanted to go slow and choose his own lover.
Although Rafe was older by five years, they'd always hung together as kids. Hunter had idolized him and the older boy had enjoyed being put on a pedestal. He'd been sixteen when Rafe challenged Ulric, the old bastard who ran the pack back then. Rafe had won easily and as the newly made leader, he'd been hot to show the pack what he could do. Even then, their numbers had been decreasing. Rafe swore he'd turn the tide and started conducting his own breeding studies.
The men weren't happy when he chose their mates, but they followed his orders for the good of the pack. Hunter had mated with Tena willingly. Maybe there were no bells and whistles but they had cared about each other.
In the twenty years they'd been together there'd been no whelps. Yeah, Tena had conceived, several times in fact. But she never carried the baby to term.
Rafe had suggested on more than one occasion back then that it was time for Hunter to mate with one of the other females. A proven breeder, he'd called him. Maybe he'd have better luck with one of the other she-wolves. The Alpha hadn't cared if he stayed with Tena as long as he spread his sperm around. Hunter had refused. Only on that point had he defied Rafe. He might be old school, but he believed in loyalty to one's mate.
With Tena gone six months, he knew Rafe wouldn't let him hold off much longer. Guilt sat heavy on his shoulders. He should be trying to help his people increase their numbers, but he didn't enjoy fucking around. What if he got someone else's mate pregnant? If he should be lucky enough to father a child, he wanted to be the one to raise it. And coming between a woman and a mate she loved didn't sit well with him. A complicated situation for sure.
He would never want Rafe's position. The Alpha had a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and had to make some tough decisions. In the end, Hunter usually went along with whatever Rafe decided.
Suddenly, a frisson of unease radiated up from the base of his spine. Every hair on his body stood on end. He hadn't seen or smelled anything out of the ordinary, but his instincts were usually spot-on. Over the loud music, he heard a series of low threatening growls.
His head snapped around, nostrils flaring and amber eyes searching for the culprit. The wolves were gathering near the entrance and the crowd prevented him from seeing anything. Suppressing his own growl, he straightened to his full six feet, five inches and made his way toward the disturbance.
The men stepped aside as he passed. They knew he wasn't there just to shoot pool, and they respected his position as lead enforcer.

Happy Reading, Gale Stanley
