R Excerpt, Private Pirouette, Lila Munro

“Let me be certain I understand you correctly.” Alec cleared his throat and swallowed a boulder. “You take off your clothes for a living, and you’re still a virgin?” He was conflicted.  On one hand, that thought made him even hotter. On the other, it was a bit daunting to think he might actually get the privilege of being her first lover.
“Yes, that is exactly what I’m saying.  I’m still intact. I’m a twenty-four year old virgin.  I’ve no idea what I’m doing further than being able to get a man excited.” She sighed and flopped back on the bed. “I’ve no clue what an orgasm feels like and probably wouldn’t know it if I had one.”
Alec fought the monster rearing its ugly head from somewhere deep down. The prospect of being able to show her what she’d been missing out on was indescribable.  He pushed back on the bed and lay on his side next to her with his head propped up on his palm.
“Okay, being a virgin is one thing, but you’re telling me you’ve never had an orgasm? You never…”
“No,” she snapped. “And don’t make fun of me.”
“I had no intention of making fun of you. I just thought everyone did that,” he said quietly, running the back of his fingers down her cheek. “You know we could remedy this problem.”
She turned to face him and propped her head up so they were looking into each other eyes. “I can’t chance it. What if I get pregnant?”
Always the logic with this one and none of the fun risk. “You do realize there are ways of preventing that, one of which I have plenty of in the bag from…” He stopped abruptly realizing exactly how that sounded and it was exactly what it looked like.
“You bought condoms at the liquor store?” With her eyes glazing over with what Alec could only surmise was a mixture of disgust, rage, and hurt, she flopped to her back and stared at the ceiling. “Unbelievable. You planned this.”
“Planned it?” he countered. “You’re one to talk. Just what was that little twist and squirm all over my dick at the club. You were getting as hot as I was.”
“You paid for that,” she argued. “You shouldn’t have expected a quick fuck was part of the deal.”

PG13 Excerpt, Private Pirouette, Lila Munro...

“Hey, Piper, you’ve got a stalker at nine o’clock,” Cam said, preparing a Creamsicle for another customer seated two stools down. “He’s a good looking one though.”
“Yes, I’ve noticed,” Piper mumbled, jotting down a notable quote on her notepad. “I have also noticed he’s a Marine and not worth my time.”
“Piper, I don’t know how you can maintain that attitude and do what you do for a living,” Cam said, topping the drink off with a shot of whipped cream and a cherry.
“Easy, I just keep in mind they are all mindless, bumbling, cheats. Not to mention careless idiots. That helps me maintain my distance. Then I smile and they tip me. Besides, it’s just a job.” She looked up and shot Cam a wicked grin. Somehow knowing she was using the very body of asses which had ruined her childhood somehow made Piper feel better about it all.
After spending most of her childhood bouncing back and forth between her active duty mother’s home and her active duty father’s house, Piper long ago decided if she ever married it wouldn’t be to a Marine.  She’d definitely never put her children through the ‘here you take her, no you can have her’ war.  Her situation was unique in that both her parents were enlisted and both had wandered away from the confines of marital vows thus ending their marriage when she was only a year old.
Piper had no happy memories of a family life which included Mom and Dad, no pictures of happy holidays past, no recollections of her parents ever being married.  All she knew of them was what little time she’d ever spent in their separate respective homes when they weren’t deployed.  When they were away, she was tended to by one step-parent or the other, neither of which was happy being taxed with the task.  She didn’t fit in her own family and had no desire to walk that path with any military man, let alone a Marine.  They were cheats and careless idiots.  As if her dysfunctional family wasn’t enough reason to steer clear of them, she would never forget the reason her best friend had given her. No, she would never forget Kayla, and she would never forget what happened to her.
As soon as she finished her degree, she was out of here. Goodbye Jacksonville and goodbye USMC.

Coming September 17...Private Pirouette by Lila Munro

Private Pirouette
September 17, 2012

Piper McGee can smell a set up a mile away. She can smell a Marine even further. Born to a dual-enlisted couple who divorced before she was old enough to remember a single family holiday together and proceeded to redefine the very definition of family through several marriages and even more step-siblings, Piper has made it her life’s promise to herself to never become involved with one of the few and the proud. They’re among the most irresponsible people she knows, leaving destruction in their wake and broken hearts paving the way to their next duty station. And in her opinion, Alec Douglas is just another example, until he pries her heart open along with other parts of her, making her question everything she's ever let herself believe about honor, courage, and commitment.
What does a man do with six month’s down time and no warm body to share his bed? For Sergeant Alec Douglas, contemplating that question led him to fall prey to his two best friend’s plan to find him that very thing. They know Alec has yet to stay with any one person for more than a few dates. They also know a tragedy from his past created the problem and while that haunts him, making it nearly impossible for Alec to trust his heart to anyone, they also know he’s a sucker for a challenge. Will the enticement of a few thousand dollars riding on him breaking his own rule be just the thing to disrupt his cycle? Taking their bet might be profitable, but is winning the money they’ve dangled under Alec’s nose worth losing himself to the girl they’ve picked out for him?
In his quest to get her to say yes to his crazy proposal, he tracks her all over town only to discover the beautiful, long-legged blond isn’t the studious book worm he mistook her for. In fact, she's one of Jacksonville’s finest in the form of Orchid, exotic dancer. Her rejection only spurs him to make sure her dancing days are over and she only performs her private pirouette for him, and only him, for the rest of their lives if he has his way.

Good morning Party Goers!

Good morning everyone!

I'm Lila Munro and I'm very happy to be here today with so many other fine writers and thank you Goddess Fish for the invitation to do so. I've toured with Goddess Fish a bit this year and visited LASR a bit, so some of you may know me, but for those that don't...Heeerre's Lila...

I'm a empty-nested, forty-something, military wife holding down the fort while my husband is away yet again on his quest to rid the world of evil or some such thing and I write contemporary erotic romance. My favorite sub-genres are BDSM, menage, and of course, military men. :) What's not to love? Alphas in a uniform? I digress. I have two four-legged babies underfoot and two plants in  my office that I somehow manage to keep alive although I ignore them most days in lieu of my muses voices. I live minutes from the beach, love museum trips and the acquarium, and get this--I think my favorite part of writing is research. I've met some pretty interesting individuals along my journey and we've had some even more interesting conversations.

Today I'm featuring my new contemporary erotic novel Private Pirouette due out in a week, September 17. I'll give you a taste of it through some excerpts and such and let you know where you can grab it next Monday. I'm also going to be talking character development today. That's one thing I can proudly say I do right...or so my readers and reviewers tell me so. :)

Thanks for joining us today and I hope everyone has a rockin' time here.
