Greetings Goddess Fish blog family!
Jaxx Steele here taking the time to hang out and tell you about my latest book, Hosting for the Holidays. Those who have read my books in the past know that I have a bit of a sweet spot for older men. This book joins the ranks of Papa knows Best, Care Package and Healing the Beast Within, the other May-December romances I have on my current book list.
Here is a sneak peek:
Hector had chosen the Christmas time for his young lover, Chad, to meet his best friends for
the first time. Christmas Eve dinner went well and Chad felt he had made a group of new friends.
To celebrate New Year's Eve Chad made special plans for him and Hector, but will the
impromptu appearance by their friends threatened to ruin his big surprise?
Excerpt:
Hector nodded and sipped from his glass. He looked around and the other two couples
nodded and gave their significant others a kiss as well.
“So, are you guys only stopping by for a moment? You have other plans for tonight?” he
asked, waving his glass around to include everyone in his questioning.
Each couple looked to their partner and then to the others. Unsure shrugging and negative
murmuring seemed to be the general consensus to his query.
“Well, it’s almost eleven now, why don't we turn on one of those New Year’s Eve shows
and make this a party,” Hector suggested, cutting off the confused chatter.
Chad stiffened at Hector’s invitation and almost groaned aloud when everyone nodded in
agreement. His midnight plans would be ruined if everyone was here. The romantic moment he
had spent days planning did not include a house full of people. With a heavy sigh he excused
himself and walked into the kitchen. Opening and closing cabinets for the dry foods then moving
to the refrigerator for the rest, Chad refilled trays with more crackers, cheese and fruit. Muttering
to himself he didn’t notice someone had entered the kitchen behind him.
“Chad, is everything okay?”
He jumped slightly at the sound of Hector’s voice. He spun to face him.
“Yeah, baby. Everything’s great. I just came to gather some more hors d' oeuvres since your
friends will be hanging out longer than I expected.”
He quickly turned back to his serving dishes, not knowing how Hector would take his last
statement. It came out a little more edgy than he intended. Moments passed as Chad’s heartbeat
quickened until he felt Hector’s familiar grip around his waist pull him into his arms.
“Okay, sweetheart.” He lowered a kiss to the top of his head then released him. “I will be
out here if you need me.” The door swung shut shortly afterward.
Chad sighed. He continued gathering and adding food to the trays, but just before he lifted
them to return to the living room, as a second thought he went out the kitchen door to the patio.
A chilly breeze blew the snow around lightly dusting the deck, but it melted quickly under the
warmth of the pit. The stars shined brightly in the cloudless sky. He picked up the stick he left by
the small fire pit and pushed around the log he borrowed from the fireplace. The weatherman
cautioned all firework spectators to bundle up since the temperature would be hovering around
twenty degrees at midnight. He had come outside with nothing but his sweater on. The flames
still burned, but they were going down. The small sign that hung over the pit that was on display
at the store explained that as long as the fire burned continuously the area around it would
remain tolerable. Sparks and flakes of fire jumped from the log and the blaze was renewed.
He sniffed deeply and smiled. Something about the smell of burning wood always relaxed
him…and turned him on. His early years as a boy scout had addicted him to camping and nature.
He was thrilled when Hector had the deck added last spring just for him. Until the bite of
Indiana’s winter kicked in, Chad spent his evenings sitting outside just enjoying the
environment.
On the small table on the other side of the deck were two glasses he had left outside to chill.
Beneath the table was a bottle of champagne he had stuffed into a small bank of snow. With a
sad sigh, he realized it probably had the perfect chill on it by now, but that no longer mattered.
They wouldn’t get the chance to drink it. Chad gave the patio and the beauty of the night one last
glance over his shoulder before going back indoors.

A Care Package just for you!
Hello everyone!
Jaxx Steele here to give you a look at one of my latest releases, Care Package. Care Package is a contemporary erotic romance sprinkled with BDSM about two soldiers and how the deal with life in and put of the service. Care Package is another one of my May-December romances as Sergeant Dwayne Roman is fifteen years older than his lover Private Jeremy Styles.
Blurb:
First Sergeant Dwayne Roman was asked to leave his life as a soldier. After suffering three years with regret and loneliness, he had the chance to get back what an unjust law and self-serving people took from him.
Excerpt:
"You are here because you've requested an audience with me. Is that correct?"
"Yes, sir!"
"I have granted your request, Private Styles. Please feel free to speak freely."
"Yes sir," he said, softening his tone. "The private would like to know if he has been an adequate soldier, Sergeant."
Sergeant Roman was taken aback. He dropped his pen, pushed back the papers he'd worked on, then leaned his chair all the way back.
"Of course. In the last year that you've been in my unit you've become a very good soldier," he answered. "I am proud to have you in my camp."
A small smile came and went quickly before the young soldier continued. "Have you had any disciplinary problems with this private, sir?"
Roman's brows knitted in confusion. "No. Your behavior has been exemplary from day one." He sat his chair up to lean casually on the desk. "Where is this line of questioning going, Private?"
Styles took a deep breath and lowered his head to gain eye contact with his superior officer. His voice was tight when he spoke.
"This private would like to know what he has done wrong, sir."
"Wrong?" Roman's head tilted to the left feigning misunderstanding. "What makes you think you've done something wrong?"
He leveled a perplexed look on him. "I was in my bunker, and I overheard the men talking about you making plans to transfer me to another unit on the other side of the base. If I haven't done anything wrong, why are you getting rid of me?"
The anguish in his voice was like a vise around Roman's heart. He blew out a long breath, sliding his hand over his head, then down his hairless face.
"It was for your own good, private," he answered in a sigh.
"My own good? How can that be?"
"I'm trying to protect your future in the Army, Styles. You need to be away from me to have that."
"What? Why?"
Roman shook his head. "The tension between us has grown, Styles. Are you denying it? It's only a matter of time before someone else sees it. As senior officer in this situation the duty is mine to—"
Private Styles stared at him wide eyed then his face exploded in anger. He spoke in an urgent whisper.
"I don't care about duty or my future in this damn Army either for that matter… not if it means I have to leave your side."
"I thought it would be best to put some distance between us. It will help the situation in the long run."
Styles gasped. "What? The long run? You thought it best? How can you—" He choked on his words. His breathing quickened as he walked back and forth, muttering incoherently. Styles's demeanor no longer resembled a soldier's, but rather that of a confused, dismissed lover.
Roman fidgeted in his chair, trying to calm his rapidly beating heart. He could see that the man was getting upset, and he too felt the sting of his words, but Roman was in charge. It was up to him to be the composed one.
"It is my duty as your commanding officer to—"
"No!"
Roman's mouth snapped shut. The passion in the other man's outburst stopped him in his tracks. The pain his words inflicted was evident on Styles's face. That had not been his intention. All he wanted to do was make sure that they had a future where they were, and some sacrifices had to be made to ensure that.
"Private, you are dangerously close to being insubordinate with your tone."
Styles held the bridge of his nose as he took several deep breaths and blinked away obvious tears. Leaning forward, holding the chair for balance, his gaze was intense and his words were slow and deliberate.
"I want you to tell me that you don't want me. That you think it is best for us to be apart. Give me the order to leave you. I want to hear it from your lips, not read it off a piece of paper, and I will go and never bother you again," he finished, pointing at the door.
Roman left his chair as the request ran through his mind. Styles was distraught over his decision. The look that landed on him seared his soul. Roman had to turn away from it. His sense of duty rose within him, in battle with what his heart felt. Private Styles's suggestion was exactly what he should do. He was a seasoned soldier in the United States Army. Protocol dictated nothing less, and so did the law of the land.
Roman turned around. Styles stood waiting for his response. He was young, too young to have so much passion for Roman. His mouth was parted and his bottom lip quivered slightly. For more nights than he could count, Roman had stroked his cock thinking about that very mouth bringing him to completion instead of his hand. The brilliant blue eyes that stared back at him haunted his dreams nightly. They sparkled with distress and unshed tears. Seeing the anguish there was like a knife in his heart. He just wanted to ease Styles's pain. Knowing that he was the cause of that hurt was his undoing. He quickly closed the distance between them and slipped his hand behind his subordinate's head.
"God help me, but I cannot give that order," he said, then fused their mouths together.
